The Sustainable Pharmacy

The book “Sustainability in Pharmacies” by Esther Luhmann examines all aspects and connections of the ecological footprint in pharmacies.

Many customers pay close attention to whether products are made from recyclable materials, whether the supply chains are socially and environmentally responsible, or whether energy consumption during production and use is low. The topics of climate change, environmental protection and health are therefore also omnipresent for pharmacy entrepreneurs.

In addition, German pharmacies have around 3.5 million customer contacts every day and, as pioneers in health issues, can provide concrete impetus for climate protection as well as economic and social sustainability.

Extensively researched for a holistic view

Ms. Luhmann and her team of co-authors (Florian Giermann, Gabriele Renner, Björn Schittenhelm) provide well-founded insights into the status quo of today's pharmacy world and inspire pharmacists with a multitude of practical recommendations for action.
