More time for consultation
Being able to offer this wide range of products in full requires time: time that the pharmacy team simply would not have with a classic warehouse organization. On average, the walking distances between the warehouse and the pharmacy as well as the selection and sorting of medicines cost around 2,040 working hours per year. Automated order picking with the ApoStore solution relieves employees of these steps: The A1000e transports the medication fully automatically from the warehouse to the sales room and shows at the push of a button which items are about to expire or need to be reordered.
ApoStore also takes care of cleaning the individual shelves: Thanks to ApoClean, employees no longer have to manually clean the warehouse of paper dust that is created when working with cardboard packaging. This allows the entire team to concentrate fully on their customers.
Automatic storage creates space
The Süd-Apotheke team stores around half of the 30,000 available medications in the A1000e picking machine. Since 2015, where pull-out cabinets were previously used, work can be carried out in a much more space-saving manner using the same floor space. For employees, this means more comfort in the workplace. The ApoStore machine automatically transports the items to the counter in the pharmacy and creates free space in a variety of ways:
